Through the years, many variations of the No. 25 Bentwood Chair have been made. This model is made at one of Michael Thonet's original factories located in the Czech Republic. The factory still exists over 150 years after its inception creating bentwood in classic as well as contemporary styles.
In 1865, Michael Thonet’s bentwood chairs, especially the No. 14 bentwood chair, were being used in restaurants, theaters, homes, prisons, hospitals, churches, and even courtrooms. The bentwood chair and other bentwood furniture became popular around the world due to their low cost, durability, and flexibility.
